On Thursday 05th January 2017 W. Bro. Bob Boulton accompanied by his wife Cate Boulton visited Rainbows Hospice for children and young people to present a Cheque for £155.00 on behalf of The Lodge of the Argonauts, No. 8210. The donation formed part of the fundraising efforts towards The Lodge of the Argonauts, No. 8210 50th Charter celebrations to be celebrated during 2018.
On this occasion W. Bro. Bob Boulton along with Brethren, Family & Friends undertook a sponsored walking day, which took place on Sunday 26th June 2016. Two variations of the walk were available to participants, the first was a gentle walk, mainly on the flat, to the Ruins of Bradgate House which involved approx. 3 miles of walking, with stops for refreshments at the Deer Barn tea Room, this route was led by Cate Boulton. The second variation was led by W. Bro. Bob Boulton, taking in approx. 5 miles and taking in Old John Tower and the Leicestershire Yeomanry War Memorial, then down to the Ruins of Bradgate House. The weather held off allowing all the participants to complete the walks successfully.
Over the past year The Lodge of the Argonauts have made significant contributions to various charitable causes (Incl. Rainbows Hospice & Macmillian Cancer Support) totalling in excess of £1,000.00 from it's 50th Charter fundraising efforts alone.
